Statue of Man with Toga

Statue with toga in Carrara marble, missing its head and hands. The feet are wearing calcei or sandals. The toga goes up with a balteus (military belt) onto the left shoulder and goes along the neck to cover the head. This is then a statue velato capite. The toga is shown with deep drapery and has a noble and solemn character. The high quality of the statue indicates the production of an urban workshop and an attribution to an imperial personage
