Sweat glands
Sweat glands, found in mammalian skin, regulate temperature and hydration. There are eccrine and apocrine sweat glands. They differ in embryology, distribution, and function. Eccrine glands release watery sweat to cool the body. Apocrine glands produce thicker sweat, contributing to body odor. Sweating eliminates waste and balances electrolytes. These glands play a vital role in thermoregulation and overall well-being.
