Golden ratio

The golden ratio is a proportion that is found in many natural patterns and artistic designs, such as seashells and the Mona Lisa. Mathematically, it is the point where the ratio of a smaller part to a larger part is the same as the ratio of the same larger part to the whole. It serves as a guide for measuring harmony and balance in shapes, and the golden ratio can also be applied to the human face in order to determine if the facial features are ideal.

Percentages are fractions that are counted out of 100. The number is followed by this symbol: %. A percentage of an object is how many parts of it there are out of 100 equal parts. For example, if you split a shape into 100 parts, 20 of the parts make 20%. The percentage sign (%) is made up of a 1 and two zeros, representing 100.
